Lester Carl Mead, son of the late Wayne and Velma (Davis) Mead was born on January 28, 1943 in Cabool, MO and departed this life on Nov. 28, 2010 at the Autumn Oaks Care Center in Mtn. Grove, MO following a short illness. He was 67 years and 10 months old.

Lester grew up in and around the Cabool area. He was one of seven children of the Mead family. He was united in marriage to Betty Lathrom on Sept. 17, 1960 and three sons were born to this union, Les Wayne Mead, Randy Lee Mead and John Clinton Mead.

Lester was a tree surgeon and used car dealer for many years until his health prevented him from working. He gave his life to the Lord in September of 2010.

Lester was preceded in death by his sons, Les and Randy Mead; his parents, Wayne and Velma Mead and one brother, Dennis Mead. He is survived by his son, John Mead and wife, Angie of Aurora, MO; Betty Dean of Mtn. Grove, MO; three brothers, Harold Mead of Mtn. Grove, MO, Dean Mead of Cabool, MO and Lonnie Mead of Strafford, MO; two sisters, Loretta Fox of Springfield, MO and Cindy Mead of Branson, MO; three grandchildren, Tabitha West of Lawrence, KS, Micheal Mead of Raytown, MO and Joel Clinton Mead of Aurora, MO; two great grandchildren, Aries and Scarlet West; four step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
