Obituary:
Lounelle Virginia (Bayless) Sneiderman was called to her heavenly home on March 21, 2013 at 7:55 p.m. to join her late husband, Herman Eddy; her youngest son, Joe; her mother, and her grandmother.
She passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by her family, to whom she was very dear.
Lou, as she was known to many friends, was born at Burge Hospital in Springfield, MO, on August 9, 1921, daughter of Kate and Jim Bayless. She attended Mountain Grove High School and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1939. Lou then enrolled at Central Methodist University where she was affectionately known as Ginger because of her flowing auburn hair. Following graduation from college, Lou worked at O'Reilly Army Hospital in Springfield where she met her soul-mate Herman Eddy Sneiderman. They were married on November 5, 1944 and made their home in Mountain Grove. Four children, Kay, Joy, Ned, and Joe were borne of their union. In 1960, Lou and Herman relocated their family, with her mother Kate Bayless, to Washington, D.C. where they remained until 1976 when she retired from the federal service. She and Herman moved to Florida where they enjoyed several years of retirement. Upon returning to Mountain Grove in 1982, they reclaimed the land previously deeded to the City by the Short Family, known as the Joel F. Short Memorial Park (formerly known as Bald Knob or Star Hill) and renamed it "Top of the Mountain". After Herman's death in 2007, Lou remained on the "Top of the Mountain", in the home that he had built, until her passing.
Lou was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. In addition, she served on the original Board of Directors for the Mountain Grove Alumni Park. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #29, American Legion Auxiliary Post #30, National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), United Methodist Women and Chitter Chatter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Eddy; her youngest son, Joe Richard Sneiderman; her mother, father, and grandparents. She is survived by her children, Kay Sneiderman Robinson (Ron, deceased 2009) Kansas City, Missouri, Joy Sneiderman Wiles (Tom) Adamstown, Maryland, and Ned Clarke Sneiderman (Suzy) Louisville, Kentucky; 6 grandchildren - her namesake, Ginger Sneiderman (Jamie Nipper) Mountain Grove; Kenny Lee Reed (Danielle) Harper's Ferry, West Virginia, Eddy, Ned II, Katie, and Caroline; 7 great-grandchildren, and her "adopted" son, John Gauthier.
Please join the family for a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 314 North Maple Avenue, Mountain Grove.
