Obituary:

Maggie A. King, 83 of Willow Springs, MO passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Willow Care Nursing Home. She was born on June 16, 1928 in Gillett, Wyoming the daughter of Fred and Edith (Hill) Kelly.

Maggie was united in marriage to Burt King on Feb. 28, 1949 in West Plains, MO and to this union two children were born, Billy and Barbara. She was a very devoted wife, a great mother and a fantastic "Granny".

Maggie retired from Conway Winters and spent many of her retirement years with her husband. Burt until his passing in 1994. She enjoyed working outdoors with her hands in her flower garden; especially her rose bushes. She liked to watch her humming birds and other wild birds from her kitchen window, and it was always a great time when playing Yahtzee and cards. Her favorite pastime was listening to her blue grass music and every chance she had she requested her favorite song, Wild Wood Flower. There are not enough words to describe this wonderful lady's life; always a smile on her face (most of the time) or the unique chuckle everyone knew was hers.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burt; daughter-in-law, Janet King; son-in-law, Jack McCormick; three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her son, Billy King of Willow Springs, MO; her daughter, Barbara McCormick of Willow Springs, MO; three grandchildren, Jacky Eaton of Willow Springs, MO, Brad King of Manilla, AR and Heather Taylor of Willow Springs, MO; three great grandchildren, Taylor & Madison King of Manilla, AR and Allison Taylor of Willow Springs, MO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
