Obituary:
Maria Ann Haar, 88, of Elk Creek, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 in her sleep. She was born February 14, 1927 to Pauline and Adolf Eberhard in Echterdingen, Germany. She married Frederic M. Haar, of Kansas, on December 23, 1958 while he was serving in Germany with the U.S. Army. They moved to Elk Creek, Missouri in the early 1960s. Maria was a city girl, but a hard worker. She adapted to life on the farm and grew to love it. Fred and Maria dairy farmed for 17 years and they became an inseparable team. Their home was always open and she enjoyed baking and cooking for the many friends and family that visited. Maria was a life-long faithful member of the New Apostolic Church. She loved her church, her dogs, and the farm. Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Fred of 48 years and 3 siblings, Freda, Fritz, and Emma. Maria will be dearly missed by her niece, Eleanore Schmidhauser and nephew, Roland Walz (both in Germany), church members, and many friends.
