IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark "Kody"
Mitchell
June 3, 1996 – July 28, 2018
Mark "Kody" Mitchell, son of Mark and Shelley (Mortenson) Mitchell, was born on June 3, 1996, in Springfield, Missouri, and went to sleep in death on July 28, 2018, at his home in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was 22 years, 1 month, and 25 days of age.
Kody was raised at his country home, just outside of Cabool, Missouri. He was the youngest of six children. Kody attended Cabool School from PreK through high school and graduated top of his class in 2014. He received the citizenship award in middle school because of his outgoing personality and how well he treated others. His senior year he received the top student award in VoTech in Computer Repair and Installation.
On November 11, 2013, Kody became baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a faithful and active witness. He met many friends and many other congregations. On July 11, 2017, Kody decided to move to Cookeville, Tennessee, where he transferred and was dearly loved by the West Cookeville Congregation.
Kody loved to drive his Dodge Charger back home to visit his family and friends and check on his cows. He loved going canoeing, fishing, hiking, and swimming at Patrick Bridge. He greatly enjoyed being outdoors.
All who knew and loved Kody knew that he was a "player"...of basketball of course! He was always game for showing his dunking skills! Kody was full of life and never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and always put others first. Kody was truly the glue to our family.
Recently, Kody brought home his girlfriend to meet his parents and family. He told his mom he was planning a proposal this fall and a February wedding. Sadly, he leaves behind the love of his life, his dime, his "perfect ten", Alyssa Rose Tabor.
Kody will be greatly missed by: his parents, Mark and Shelley Mitchell of Cabool, Missouri; his siblings: Leah West and her husband, Dale, of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, and their children Rein and Keely, Christina Iwanski and her husband, Jeremy, of Grovetown, Georgia, and their children, Makenzi, Maddison, Mayle, Masa, Aspen and Alaric, AJ Jewett and his girlfriend, Molly, of Columbia, Missouri, Marki Ayers and her husband Jaymes, of Houston, Missouri, and their son Tobias, and Jesci Boatright and her husband, Erek, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and their children, Jayleigh, Tinsley, and Oakley; as well as grandparents, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will greatly miss him.
