Martha "Lou" (Maupin) Floerchinger, 91 of Cabool, MO passed from this life into her heavenly home on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Kabul Nursing Home., She was born on January 3, 1929 in Simmons, MO, the daughter of Earl M. and Fannye E. Potts.
The family moves took them from Simmons to Cabool and Houston, Missouri then on to Bowling Green, Missouri where Martha " Lou " not only graduated from high school but met her future husband, William "Bill" Maupin. Throughout their marriage, they were blessed to have four boys and the family was privileged to have made Wichita, KS; Rockford, IL; Philadelphia, PA; Wilmington, DE and Minneapolis, MN their home. Returning to Cabool, Missouri to help Martha " Lou 's parents. they purchased and continued operating the Dairy Kreme her parents had established. They later grew the business by adding Western Union, UPS and Trailways Bus Line (both in Cabool and West Plains). After selling the Dairy Kreme, they purchased and ran the Maupin Video Store until its sale in 2000.
Martha " Lou " loved Jesus; having accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at age 8 and was always active in her church, loved playing the piano and having a beautiful singing voice, she was deeply involved with the choir leading many cantata specials during various holidays.
She had earned the title and was widely known by many as 'Momma Lou' because of her love for others. She loved life, she knew no strangers, friends both young and old quickly became family and she was a great cook, her kitchen was always open and the coffee pot was always on.
Martha " Lou " was preceded in death by her first husband, William R. Maupin in 1998; son Michael W. Maupin (2011); and second husband, Robert L. Floerchinger (2017).
Surviving her are sons, Tom (wife-Fran) of Cabool; Patrick (wife-Jennifer) of Branson, MO; and David of Mountain Grove, MO; Grandchildren, Amber Jensen (husband-Jesse) of Springfield, MO; Elijah Maupin (wife-Donna) of Weber, UT; and Jordan Maupin of Creve Coeur, MO; Great-grandchildren, Kaomi, Kaelyn, Jocelyn and Asher Maupin and Tarik, Sophia and Nicholas Jensen as well as a multitude of wonderful and faithful friends.
