Mary Louise Brooks Smith passed away on March 16, 2017 surrounded by family and friends at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 16 days.  She was born on December 23, 1927 in Sargent, MO the daughter of Arch and Claudine (Rivry) Brooks.

Mary went to school at Sargent through the 8 ^th grade and graduated from Cabool High School in 1947.  She loved to work on the farm; through the years she worked at the Brown Shoe Factory, was a cook at Cabool Schools for 21 years and volunteered at the S.O.S Thrift Store.

Mary was united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Smith of Cabool on August 17, 1948 at Sargent, MO in the house she was born and raised in; to this union, one son, Kevan was born on March 12, 1965.

Mary was a lifetime member of the Cabool Church of Christ; she loved her church and loved the Lord.  She loved her family very much and would help anyone in need at any time.  She loved gardening and her flower beds, being outside tending to her cattle and PULLING WEEDS!! ; but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and teaching them about all things in life that she felt was important.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Eugene Smith; a half-sister, Lizzy and half-brother, Roy.  She is survived by her son, Kevan; daughter-in-law, Lisa of Cabool; granddaughters, Lindsey Smith and fiancé Brandon of Billings, MO and Megan Cole and husband, James of Springfield, MO and two grandsons, Corbin James Smith and Dylan Anthony Smith of Cabool.

Mary was a loving daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma and a friend to all; she will be missed by her family and friends and will always be remembered for time to come.
