Obituary:

Michael Charles Harmon was born on June 9, 1959 to Charles and Ileene (Jarrett) Harmon at the Hogg Clinic in Cabool, MO. Mike passed away at Cox South Medical Center on September 12, 2020 after a battle with heart and kidney failure.

Mike was saved as a young man and was baptized as a member of Hamilton Creek Baptist Church. He graduated from Cabool High School in 1977. Mike was known as being a jokester and never meeting a stranger that he would not stop to talk to. Mike loved being in the outdoors. He especially loved hunting, horse shows with his wife, trail rides on the horses and just being with his cattle on the farm. In the summer months he enjoyed being at the lake, boating and camping. Mike enjoyed cars and motorcycles and anything that went fast. He enjoyed playing, feeding and laughing at his dog, Smeagol. He was known to take people on wild tubing rides with his great big smile showing. When the smile was out, he was pestering people. In the fall he would be reloading and getting ready for hunting season. He liked being around his friends at the hunting camp and sharing stories where the bucks got larger than the Missouri lottery. Mike was a great hunter and provider for his family. Mike and Linda spent time on the farm raising cattle and showing horses. He loved the cattle even though he would call them choice names from time to time.

Mike started working for Cabool Lease on the fuel island while still in high school. His bosses saw lots of potential and offered him a mechanic position where he excelled. He became factory certified in multiple different levels through Detroit and Cummins. He then moved up to shop foreman over the Cabool, MO and Portales, NM shops. After this, Mike started driving for WDT where he drove for 18 yrs and covered millions of miles with no accidents.  He retired from WDT in 2017.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Linda Harmon; his mother, Ileene Harmon; his brother, Max and wife, Lea; his sister, Judy and her husband, Shahram; his son, Jeremy and his wife, Tabitha; his daughter, Tera and her husband, Jay; his grandkids Trinity and Tyler Combs, and Zane, Danika, and Coleton Harmon. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all.

Mike was preceded in death by his father Charles Harmon whom he looked up to and loved very much. He will be sadly missed and remembered by his many friends and family members.
