Norman "Norm" Edward Shotwell, 79 of Cabool, MO passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Kabul Nursing Home. The son of Judeson and Kathryn Shotwell was born on July 12, 1937 in New Village, NJ where he resided for 40 years.
Norm was a factory worker at M & M Candy, where he made plain and peanut M&M chocolates. In the years of working at M&M he met his wife, Mike Shotwell, shortly they married on August 7, 1995. Norm retired after 25 years of service. Norm also served as a volunteer fire fighter at Washington Township Fire Department in New Jersey for 25 years; he loved to help out anywhere he was called out to.
In September of 1995 he and his family moved to Cabool, MO to start a farm. He loved to read the newspaper and cut out the clippings of food he wanted Mike to get at the grocery store, loved watching RFD TV while drinking his coffee in the mornings, westerns, cattle sales and listening to his oldies music. Norm also loved working with his cattle and around the farm, always had a story to tell whether it was the same story or not it was still his story to tell.
Norm was preceded in death by his parents, Judeson and Kathryn Shotwell and one brother, Irvin Shotwell all of New Village, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mike Shotwell of the home; 3 brothers, Tommy and Ann Shotwell of Broken Arrow, OK, Carl and Carol Shotwell of Washington, NJ and Bob Shotwell of Willow Springs, MO; 4 children, David Shotwell of Fort Walton, FL, Honora Ann of Oklahoma City, OK, TJ Oliver of Cumming, GA, Kammi Jenkins and Adam Smith of Mtn. Grove, MO; 5 grandchildren, Johnathon Shotwell, Jordie Filip, Ryleigh Oliver, Rex Oliver and Reece Oliver; 3 great grandchildren, Casen Smith, Khylie Smith and Haylee Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
