Obituary:

Orval Lee Carmichael went to be with his Lord after a long struggle with Alzheimer's on September 3, 2018 in the Kabul Nursing Home at the age of 91 years and 23 days. He was born on August 7, 1927 in Pawnee City, Nebraska the son of Hiram and Fern Carmichael.

Orval attended a rural school through the 8 th grade and one year of high school before quitting to help on the family farm. He served in the US Army from 1944 to 1946 in the fire department division in Alaska.

Orval was united in marriage to Darlene Kimes at Humboldt, NE on November 18, 1950 and raised three children and shared 67 years and 9 months together. He enjoyed floating, hunting and fishing throughout his lifetime. Orval was raised in the Presbyterian Church in Pawnee City and was baptized at the Cabool Church of the Brethren on April 24, 2005. He was a farmer while living in Pawnee City until moving to Cabool in September 1959 and started construction on homes.

Orval was preceded in death by is parents; a son, Roger; a daughter, Barbara; a sister, Eileen and two brothers, Andrew and Robert. Left to honor and remember his love are his wife, Darlene of the home; daughter, Kim Meintzes and husband, Gregg; 2 sisters, Melva Gaffard and husband, Ron and Mary Richards; six grandsons, one granddaughter, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
