Obituary

Regina "Jeannie" Lynette Bentley, 74 of Cabool, MO passed away on January 23, 2022 at her home. She was born on January 9, 1948 in St. Louis, MO to Ralph and Virginia Rust. Jeannie was surrounded with loving care from her mother, her daddy, Robert L. Spradling, her grandma, Molly Johnson, her uncle, Jack Johnson and her aunt, Myrtle Burkdoll.

Several siblings followed and as the family grew, so did Jeannie's roll as the eldest. She quickly and lovingly took on the responsibilities of caretaker of her younger brothers and sister. Many a night she would be known to rock and sing a sibling to sleep.  Jeannie was a beauty and was crowned "Homecoming Queen" in her junior year at Cabool High School and graduated in 1966.

Throughout the years, Jeannie became known as a remarkable cook and a fantastic baker. She often sold food out of her home and owned two different restaurants where people flocked for her creations. Working hard all her life and even being weary to the bone, she always had time for you, met you with a smile and made you feel special.

Jeannie had a great gift of love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for her children, Tia and Jeff, although at times, life was so very hard every trial was met with prayer. Jeannie bore two children, yet she took under her wing and nurtured, MIchael, Charlie, Tia, Michelle, Jack, Tony, Randy Joe, Jackie, Danny and Shyola.

Jeannie lived in several different states and chose to move back home to Cabool in 2013. Always living and sharing the gospel; she was kind to everyone, easily saw the good in a person and always forgave a wrong action. She could not drive by a garage sale (she inherited from her mother), she kept a charming home, she was artistic, she loved animals, reading, puzzles, singing, driving around reminiscing and most of all her siblings and family.

The fellowship with her Christian lady friends on Tuesday brightened her world and her grandchildren and great grandchildren remained constantly on her heart and in her prayers. She fervently believed in the power of prayer.

Jeannie grew up in the First Baptist Church and came back to continue her gift of service while her health permitted. She was a shining beam to everyone who knew her; she is our light gone to soon.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia L. Johnson; daddy, Robert Spradling; uncle, Jack Johnson; aunt, Myrtle Burkdoll and brother, Bryan Spradling. She is survived by daughter, Tia Lynette Boyeson (Bob); son, Jeffrey Arthur (Niki); Mike McNeill (Kelly) and Charlie McNeill; siblings, Dora Barnetti, Rob Spradling, Nanette Burge (Tim), Brent Spradling (Lisa) and Jac B. Spradling; grandchildren, Jenni Lehe Horton (James), Kevin Leety (Kaisa), Monty Arthur, Kendra Arthur, Kladen Arthur, Cason Evilsizer, Mitchell, Ian, Jacob, Michael and Ramsey; great grandchildren, Susie, Jesse, Aizlynn, Sarah, Judah, Lucy and Oliver; special friends, Danny and Jackie Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, childhood friends and church friends. Jeannie left a legacy of such understanding, kindness, love, smiles and recipes!!
