Sam Crisp
December 3, 1934 – February 27, 2011
Sam Crisp, 76 of Cabool, MO passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at his home. He was born on December 3, 1934 in Memphis, TN the son of Sam A. and Emma (Bradley) Crisp. He was raised and attended school in Memphis.
Sam enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1952 and proudly served his country until his retirement in 1987. He served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and three tours of duty in Vietnam. He enjoyed traveling, going to Branson, reading and he was a member of the Marine Corps League 1184 of West Plains, serving as the Commandant for two years. He was also the Toys-for-Tots coordinator for three years and expanded it in to Wright and Texas Counties.
Sam was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Houston, MO and the Men's Christian Soldiers Group.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Linda LaFrancouis, Richard Crisp and Sam Crisp, Jr.; one brother and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Robbie Crisp of the home; his daughter, Cindy Rinehart and husband, Roland of Bloomingdale, GA; his son, William T. Crisp of New York; three step children, Darcey Gartrell and husband, Scott of Parker, CO, Danita Young and husband, Everett of Hartville, MO and David Zumwalt and wife Jessica of Windsor, CO; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
