January 13, 1919 – September 26, 2015
Richard Max Forsythe, 96 of Cabool, MO passed away on Sept. 26, 2015 at the Kabul Nursing Home. He was born on January 13, 1919 in Elk Creek, MO the son of the late Todd and Myrtle (Grisham) Forsythe. Max was an athlete, Cabool businessman, community leader, Dad, and friend. He completed High School in Cabool and attended Drury College in Springfield before serving in the Army at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. After serving his country, Max made Cabool his hometown. He owned and operated many businesses including Tod's Motel and apartments, Tod's Café, Tod's One Stop Service Station, Tod's Towing service and partner in Cabool Tire.
Max through the years was active in the Cabool Jaycees, the City Council and Cabool Development Corporation. He was part of the team that attracted the shoe factory, now housing Drury College-Cabool Campus and a poultry plant. He helped establish Wedgewood Country Club. Max made many life long friends through playing basketball, his business customers and the Cabool community.
Max was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma and his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Susie Forsythe. He is survived by his sons, Robert Forsythe (Cyndy) of Little Rock, AR and Steve Forsythe, of Cabool, MO; granddaughters, Tiffany Weatherly (Jeff) and Stephanie Hernandez (Ragan) of Little Rock, AR; as well as many more relatives and friends.
