Obituary:

Richard  (Dick)  McGavran, 81 of Cabool, MO passed away on Feb. 11, 2018 at the Landmark Villa.  He was born to Loris and Marie McGavran on October 4, 1936 in Minneapolis, Kansas.

He was a philosopher and a traveler. He traveled as a member of the United States Navy in the 1950's, traveled as a member of the Boilermakers Local 83, and he traveled in his retirement when he fulfilled his bucket list by moving to Port Lyons, Alaska. As a philosopher he loved to debate politics both modern and ancient, he could also hold forth any conversation concerning the great philosophers of history. He was a teacher to his family and friends in both the learned thought as well as the great outdoors and lifes important lessons.  He was a 46 year member of the Masonic Joppa Lodge in Leon, KS. He will be missed but what he left behind will be forever in our memories.
