Fredrick "Rick" Leighton Carroll, 72 of Cabool, MO entered the heavenly gates on November 14, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 24, 1948 in Russell, KS the son of Clyde Melvin and Cynthia June (Leighton) Carroll.
Rick met the love of his life, Floydean Ann Young, shortly after he and his family moved to Cabool in 1962. They became High School sweethearts and married on June 3, 1967. T hey celebrated 53 years of marriage this year; a true testimony to the meaning of love! Four children were born to this union, Misti Noel, Derrick Leighton, Mandy "Nikki" Nichole and Dusty Lolita.
At a young age, Rick discovered his passion for building/repairing things; from toy models, vehicle motors, old cars, hot rod garden tractors, motor bikes and much, much more. He held many job titles from auto painter, welder, auto body instructor, salvage owner, farmer and rancher. He was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly watching his children and grandchildren playing ANY sport! He loved taking his grandchildren hunting (fixing them egg sandwiches for the trip) and sitting in the stands being the LOUDEST supporter.
After suffering a massive heart attack in 2004, Rick rededicated his life to the Lord. He was a firm believer that the Lord spared his life so that he could share God's love with everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by a multitude of those whose lives he touched. They will especially miss his Big Bear Hugs and his Sunday mashed potatoes.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Floydean of the home; his children, Misti Liska and husband, Jeff of Mtn. Grove, Derrick Carroll and wife, Katy of Mtn. Grove, Nikki Bennett and husband, Tony of Cabool and Dusty Coen of Cabool; fourteen grandchildren, Corie (Colin) Jones, Haden (Taylor) Liska, Miya, Elleah, Leighton, Sophia Carroll, Madison (Christian) Ortega, Meagan Bennett, Clayton (Courtney) Coen, Taylor (Dakota) Goforth, Austin (Miranda) Coen, Ashlyn (Jess) Farris, Conner Coen, Shelman Coen and nine great grandbabies and two more on the way; one brother, Jon (Ann) Carroll of Florida; two sisters, Connie (Dale) Wagner of Russell, KS and Lana (Don) Hass of Loveland, CO; as well as a host of relatives both far and near.
