Bob attended Mtn. Grove High School and graduated in 1971. He was united in marriage to Shirley on April 2, 1973 at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove and to this union two children were born, Misty and Scott.

His Uncle Bruce Long raised him like his son; they had many good and special times together. There are special memories of setting up deer camp where he spent many hours with his son and grandchildren. Dr. David Barbe was a very special friend and they have had many good times as friends and as a patient. But most of all, his kids and grandchildren were the "Sunshine in his eyes".
