Obituary

With love in our hearts and a lifetime of memories we said goodbye, for now, to Dad on

April 21, 2023.

Dad started his life February 6, 1933 on a farm in Newton, lowa. A favorite story of this ornery boy is when he locked his uncle in the chicken house and ran to his mom for protection. As a teenager, dad's family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. After schooling at Boulder University, Dad worked as an electrical engineer for the city of Colorado Springs until he retired. Early in his career, Dad met a cute coworker, Carolyn, and they spent the next 64 years together. Dad loved life and always tried new activities. He skied the Rocky Mountains, enjoyed carving wood caricatures and oil painting. He enjoyed painting pictures of old barns-the older the better. As a family we fished, hiked, camped and traveled every summer. He was an excellent example by providing for his family physically and more importantly spiritually.

Retirement life started in Missouri on a hobby farm. New adventures continued for Dad and Mom.

He was devoted to our mom, Carolyn, who preceded him in death just four months prior. We know we will see him again because he taught us the comforting words that Jesus spoke at John 5:28, " that those in the memorial tombs will hear His voice and come out."

We will miss Dad's unique sense of humor and outlook on life.
