Rosie Lee Hanson 82 of Mountain Grove, MO passed away July 22, 2021, at Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool , MO .
She was born on March 25, 1939, near Broughton , IL t o Kelbert and Mildred ( Johnson ) Eaton . Around the age of 1 4 s he was saved at Lebanon Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, IL. Sh e graduated Cabool High School in 1957. Ros i e worked at the local laundr omat , Tiny's Steak House, then Brown Shoe Factory where she retired in 1995 after 32 years.
Rosie and her two daug hters, Tammy and Tina , lived on the family farm as a trio until she was united in marriage on April 16, 1976, to Robby Gail Hanson. R obby and Rosie enjoyed their days together on the farm in Cabool until his passing in 2015 .
Rosie had a quiet personality , but once you were around her, she had quite a sense of humor . She had a tremendous love for the outdoors. Every summer her vegetable garden abundan ce was shared with her neighbors. Many of those neighbors came to Rosie for fresh farm eggs . E very imaginable farm animal was at one time a resident of the Hanson far m, even a pair of peacocks . She was a talented self-taught seamstress . M any of her evenings were spent embroidering quilts for family and friends that have bec o me treasured keepsakes.
She was an avid bingo player and NASCAR fan. One of her most cherished memories was cheering on her favorite driver, Carl Edwards , at Texas Motor Speedway on her 75 th birthday. There was nothing Rosie loved more than spending time with her children and grandchildren . Throughout the years she also welcomed many others as her own.
Sh e was preceded in death by h er husband, Robby of 38 years, her parents , siblings Maxi Eaton, Elk Creek; D onnie Eaton , Kansas; Mildred Doty, Arnold Eaton and Sharon Miller , all of Cabool. Stepdaughter Julie Edwards, Mississippi .
Sh e is survived by h er daughters Tammy and husband Rip, Texas ; Tina and husband Kent, Cabool. Stepsons , Austin Hanson, Arkansas; Russell Hanson and wife Margaret , St Charles; Jesse and wife Shawanna Hanson, Seymour . Brother, Eugene and wife Carol , Springfield; and sister June Barnes of Cabool . She also leaves behind s everal grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Sh e will be greatly missed by all.
