Obituary:

Roy "Junior" Sorrell, 86 of Cabool, MO passed from this life on April 8, 2019 at the Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO. He was born on March 29, 1933 at the Hebron Area of Douglas County, MO the son of Roy Edward and Mary "Alice" (Dennis) Sorrell.

He completed only 8 grades of school before quitting to go to work and to help his father on the farm. At the age of 16 he moved to the Boise Valley Area of Idaho and worked at numerous hard labor jobs, eventually retiring from the Golden Gate Highway District after 19 years. He moved back to a farm just south of Cabool in 1979 and then into town in 1991.

Roy had four children, Cynthia Marleen with Glenda Farrell, Angela Carlene and Robert Jay with Velma Ledbetter and Janeen Rose with Winifred Nelson; he loved them all very much.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Winifred and her parents, Edward and Mary Nelson; a brother, Kenneth Sorrell; a sister, Mary Stuart; brothers-in-law, Bob Brown, Cleo Stuart, Bob Tyson, Ed Strickfadden, Clarence Nelson, Bill Nelson and wife, Mary Ellen, Allen Nelson and wife, Helen, Ted Nelson and wife, Ila, Harold Hill and wife, Yvonne, Warren Langer and wife, Mary Anna; sisters-in-law, Doreen Sorrell, LaNeva Sorrell and Donna Nelson and a son-in-law, Ron Story. He is survived by daughters, Cynthia Lake and husband, Larry and Angela Lafata and husband, Steve; son, Robert Jay Sorrell; daughter, Janeen Steelman and husband, Clayton; brothers, William Sorrell and wife, Elizabeth and Dennis Sorrell; sisters, Faye Tyson and Linda Sue Williams and husband, Tom; brothers-in-law, Joe Nelson, Edgar Nelson and wife, Mary, Jim Nelson and wife, Connie; sisters-in-law, Rita Sorrell and Lorena Nelson as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a loving friend, Elfie Loper. His family was his life.
