IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruby L.
(Noel) Graven
April 5, 1931 – May 17, 2014
Ruby (Noel) Graven, 83 of Cabool, MO departed this life on May 17, 2014 at 2:49 pm to join her Heavenly Father, in her family home, surrounded by loved ones after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. Ruby was born April 5, 1931 to James and Martha (Hartley) Noel in Bado MO. Ruby was one of ten children, three of whom died at early ages. Ruby grew up in the Bado community and attended a one room school house. The family moved to Cabool where she attended Cabool High School with the class of 1949. On June 8, 1949 Ruby was united in marriage to Gene Graven. They lived and worked in the Cabool area all their lives. To this union four children were born, Diana, Debra, Paula and Danny.
Ruby accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized into Christ on April 30, 1961 at Cabool Christian Church where she has remained a faithful member. God and her church family have always played a major role in her life. She was always willing to help with church functions and programs. She especially liked helping with the after school program the church used to have. Her faithful walk with God has always been an inspiration to her family.
Ruby always put others first. It was important to her to make sure others were taken care of and happy. She loved preparing a traditional Sunday meal where having 20 or more family members present wasn't uncommon. When her health began to fail the tradition has been continued by her daughter Debra.
Ruby loved the babies and little ones. She was always thrilled to hear there was another baby on the way; she was overjoyed to hear a great-great granddaughter would be arriving in August or September. One of the things she loved most was playing with the little ones and rocking the babies.
Some activities Ruby enjoyed were gardening, canning, cooking, aerobics, at the high rise and her favorite past time was reading her Bible and walking.
Ruby is survived by daughters, Debra Graven Osborn and Paula Graven Moore and husband, Terry from Cabool; son, Danny Graven of West Plains; grandchildren, Michael Osborn and wife, Tina, Jonnathan Graven, Jennifer Graven Sterner and husband, Chris, James Moore, Terry G.
