Ruth L. Gamel. 89 passed away on Nov. 3, 2025 at the Wilson Creek Nursing Home in Springfield, MO.  She was born on July 1, 1936 in Cortez, CO the daughter of Arthur Dean and Lela Ruth (Baker) McLain.

She and her 4 siblings moved to Cabool in 1947. She attended Oak Grove School and graduated from Cabool High School.  Shortly after graduating, Ruth was united in marriage to Raymond Loman and to this union five children were born, Linda, Debbie, Ellen, Raymond and Judy.

Ruth worked at the shoe factory in Cabool and later at Willow Springs where she would eventually retire.  Ruth was then married to Norvil Gamel and they resided in Cabool until his passing on Dec. 9, 2003.

Ruth was preceded by her parents; her husband, Norvil; her daughter, Ellen; granddaughters, April and Lakeisha; grandsons, Bobby and David and her siblings, Belva, Orville, Lester and Joyce.  She is survived by children, Linda Oaks and husband, Charles, Debbie Mitchell, Raymond Loman, Jr. and Judy Johnson and husband, Richard; granddaughter, Jeanette and husband, Kemar;  several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; as well numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
