Obituary:

Ruthie Victoria Mohler, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at the St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, MO at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 10 days. She was born on August 18, 1926 in Hutchinson, KS the second of the six children of Newton Otto and Dolly Almeda (Firestine) McLaughlin.

The family moved to Bloodland, MO, where Ruthie went to school and helped her mother run a boarding house where she met her future husband. She was united in marriage to Delmar Dean Mohler November 21, 1941 and to this union two sons were born, Martin Dean on Mary 7, 1953 and Eric Pernel on March 19, 1963. Ruthie and Delmar had a lifelong commitment that lasted 61 years, until his passing in 2003.

Ruthie worked as a waitress in her early married years at various places in Illinois and Missouri. She would later work for Bauer Brothers Shoe Company in Cabool in 1965 where she remained for 26 years until her retirement from Brown Shoe Company in 1991. She spent her retirement years enjoying her family and friends and looking after Delmar. They attended the Cabool Christian Church as long as their health permitted.

Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delmar; and three brothers, Robert, Alva and Eugene McLaughlin. She is survived by her sons, Martin Mohler and wife, Connie and Eric Mohler both of Cabool, MO; two granddaughters, Jennifer Lee (Mohler) Richardson of Cabool, MO and Amanda Victoria (Mohler) Creech of Licking, MO; great grandson, Mathew of Cabool, MO; one brother, William McLaughlin and wife, Janet of Morton, IL; one sister, Charlotte Rust and husband, David of Kirbyville, MO; two sisters-in-law, Inez McLaughlin of Mackinaw, IL and Shirley Pearce of Anthony, TX; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
