Obituary:

Shirley L. Johnson, 84 of Birch Tree, MO passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 after a long illness.  She was born on August 24, 1934 in Aurora, MO the second child of Robert and Rose (Garbs) Holthaus and was raised in St. Louis where she attended Catholic Schools.

Before graduating high school, she met the "love of her life" and married James Johnson in 1953; together they became the parents of seven children, six of which survive, and raised their family in Howell and Shannon Counties, Missouri.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; her son, Michael; a sister, Pauline; a brother, Robert, Jr.; as well as many other extended family members.  She is survived by her daughters, Jan (Mike) Harrison, Cathy (Darrin) Renshaw and Cindy Johnson; her sons, David Johnson, William Johnson and John (Vicki) Johnson; grandchildren, Jason (August), Amanda, Sherry (Craig), Dawnna, Michael II, Shawna, Justin (KayLee), Austin and Jordan; 9 great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends she made throughout the years.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Birch Tree Place that attended to Shirley the past six years and for their dedication to her care.
