Susan "Susie" Diane Smith, 55 of Mtn. Grove, MO passed away on Nov. 17, 2016 at the Kabul Nursing Home due to complications from diabetes.  She was born on January 1, 1961 in Cabool, MO the daughter of James Preston and Margaret Smith.

Susie was married to Kenneth Smith.  Her children, Timothy Jay, James Bradley and Shanda Kay were her pride and joy.  She worked for many years as a welder at Mansfield Steel.  She took pride in her work and became one of the best welders there.

Susie loved the Fall; hunting with Brad and making deer jerky with Shanda.  She was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen teaching Shanda grandmas recipes.  She wouldn't let you leave her house until you ate something.  She also enjoyed going to yard sales with Shanda and her sister, Connie; back roading with everyone to see the wildlife.  Susie was very proud of her kids and especially her grandchildren.

Susie was preceded in death by her sons, Timothy and Bradley "Brad"; her mother, Margaret Smith; her father, James Preston and a niece, Tara Orr.  She is survived by her daughter, Shanda Holt of Norwood, MO; sister, Connie Preston of Mtn. Grove; brother, Robert Smith of Cabool; half-sisters, Melissa and Stormy of Cabool; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  She was a loved by all who knew her and she left this world a better place.
