Obituary:
Tommy Lee Lane, 70 of Cabool, MO was born on April 13, 1943 the son of John and Lenore (Doty) Lane. He departed this life on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at the Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, MO surrounded by family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Tommy was born and raised in the Ozarks that he loved so dearly with his two siblings, Jack and Vida. He loved being outdoors and really enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed family gatherings, dinners and barbecues, as well as the occasional game of dominos or shooting a game of pool. He loved watching the Professional Bull Riders on television with his family. Tommy loved animals and took loving care of his pets. He enjoyed long drives in the country as well as trips to Belton, MO to visit his nephew, Danny Greuter and family. He also looked forward to visits from Lorie and Bob Schleicher from Colorado and the many stories and pictures they shared with him of the wild animals in the mountains. Tommy spent the last 2 ½ years of his life living with his sister, Vida at their home in Cabool, a time that was treasured by both of them.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lenore Lane; a brother, Jack Lane; two half-sisters, Carlene Spencer and Estalee Batson and a half-brother, Herbert Bailey. He is survived by his sister, Vida Brizendine of the home; a sister-in-law, Anita Lane of Cabool, MO; special cousin that was like a brother, David Lane and his wife, Faith of Cabool, MO; best friends and cousins, Laura Rust of Mtn. Grove, MO, Kimberly Elliott and Jim Doty of Cabool, MO; nieces and nephews, Wanda Crook, Kathy Harvey and husband, Dan, Linda McMinn, Gary Lane and Bo Lane all of Cabool, MO, and Lorie Schleicher and husband, Bob of Florissant, CO, Michael Light and wife, Kelly of Springfield, MO, Dennis Lane and wife, Stephanie of Mtn. Grove, MO and Danny Greuter and wife, Denise of Belton, MO; as well as many great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Tommy was a very friendly person that had never met a stranger. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
