Virginia Ann "Jenny" James, 84 of Cabool, MO passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. She was born on May 7, 1941 in Elk Creek, MO the daughter of Arthur and Evelyn (Garlett) Maness.
Jenny attended school at Elk Creek through the eighth grade and then attended and graduated from Cabool High School. She was united in marriage to Glenn David James on Christmas Eve 1959.
Jenny went to work for Brower Brothers Shoe Factory in 1959 and remained there until 1996 when Brown Shoe Factory closed. She then went to work at Dollar General in 1997 until her retirement at the age of 70; spending the next 14 years taking care of family, cooking and crocheting afghans which she enjoyed giving away to whom ever wanted one.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; brother, Donald Ray Maness; sister, Billie Charlene Cook; nephew, Bobby Ray Cook and a brother-in-law, Ardell Franklin Cook. She is survived by her brother, Danny Dale Maness of the home; niece, Debra Jean Taylor; niece, Kristin Charlene Cook; great nephew, Stetson Ardell Taylor. Jenny loved Stetson like a son, his family Keisha, Weston, Dayne and Rylee Glenn; special nephew, Paul James and his mom, Mary. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
