Obituary:

W. Harold Upton, 82 of Cabool, MO passed away on January 2, 2019 at his home near Cabool. Harold was born on August 29, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, IA the son of Donald C and June "Hayward" Upton.

Harold was united in marriage to Carolyn Shaw on July 17, 1960 in Dallas City, IL.  He spent two years in the Army National Guard before enlisting in the US Air Force where he served from 1955-59.  He later retired from Federal Aviation after 24 years.  Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing, taking care of the birds and building bird houses.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and a sister, Elizabeth Ann in infancy.  He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; 3 sons, Clifford M. Upton of Lewistown, MT, Gary E. Upton of Iowa City, IA and Brad W. Upton of Bozeman, MT; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 3 sisters, Sara Weschler, Anna Turner and Linda Smith all of Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor Steve English officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Murphy Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Richwood Cemetery rural Mt.

Pleasant with full Military Honors conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard.  A memorial has been established in his memory.
