Obituary:

Wanda Maybelle (Hartel) East, 96 of Cabool, MO departed this life on June 26, 2020. She was born on February 25,1924 in South Bend, IN to Joseph Martin and Emma Jane (Craig) Hartel as their only child. After high school she worked in the library at the University of Notre Dame.

On May 5,1949 she married Falus James East of Cabool, MO. That year they built a new Grade A milk barn where they milked cows for over 40 years until Falus' death in 1992. Their marriage brought forth 5 children, Jarrett Dane,Neil Arlin, James Joseph,Rebecca Ann and Dallas Martin.

She was a very caring and loving mother and wife who had interests focused on music, poetry and art. Her unchanging devotion to God was expressed through those special talents. She loved birds and flowers. Her kind and pleasant nature were evident attributes to anyone who met her.

Besides her husband, Falus, she was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Jimmy and Neil. She is survived by sons, JD East of Strafford, MO and Dallas East and his wife, Midori of Tupelo, MS; her daughter, Becky Berry and husband, Rick of West Plains, MO; 12 grandchildren, Vanessa East, Richard East, Natalia McMillan, Angela Pierce, Jesse Berry, Rex Berry, Bethany Roberts, Lindsey Wylie, Dakota Berry, Elijah Berry, Karen East and Jennifer Yates; 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Wanda lived the last 10 years in the home of her daughter, Becky and Rick Berry in West Plains, MO.
