Obituary:

Wanda Jean Gunter, 69 of Mountain Grove, MO, the daughter of the late George and Dessie Marie (Tate) Hicks was born on June 5, 1945 in Drury, MO.  She departed this life on December 30, 2014 at the Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 25 days of age.

Wanda grew up in Drury, MO and attended school at Dora.  She was married for a brief time to Carl Edward Gunter and 4 boys were born during this union. Wanda enjoyed being around her family and spending time with her friends. Wanda was outgoing and loved going to auctions she also enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns and she really enjoyed embroidering.

Wanda was a loving mother and grandmother and friend. She will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Ricky Gunter and Jesse Gunter; a daughter-in-law, Penny Gunter; and an infant son.  She is survived by 2 sons, Leroy Gunter and Matt Gunter and wife, Angel all of Mtn. Grove, MO; a sister,  Francis Smith and husband, Junior of Mtn. Grove, MO; 1 brother, George Jr Hicks and wife, Marie of Hartville, MO; 3 granddaughters,  Kristie Gunter, Allie Gunter and Kerrigan Gunter all of Mtn. Grove; 4 grandsons, Michael Hicks of Ava, MO, Jesse Gunter of Mtn. Grove, MO, Lonnie McKibben of Beaver Creek, OH and Alex Gunter of Mtn. Grove, MO; 6 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson and a host of nieces and 1 nephew and other family members and friends that will miss her dearly.
