William "Bill" Nieman's Obituary

Listen to Obituary

William L. Nieman, age 88, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, in Cabool, Missouri. William was born on Sept. 17, 1937, in Cass County, Iowa, to Carl and Beata Nieman, who preceded him in death.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long and dedicated career. After his service, he moved to Visalia, California, where he worked for Armstrong Tires. He later relocated to Texas for work before returning to Tulare, California, where he spent many years as a milk truck driver for CalWestern Transport. He continued in this role until his retirement. In his later years, he moved to Cabool, Missouri, where he enjoyed a quiet and fulfilling retirement.

William is survived by his loving children: his son, Terry Nieman of Clovis, California; his daughter, Deena Klein and her husband, Roger Klein, of Fresno, California. He was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren: Lanae Kirby and her husband, Bryan Kirby of Hillsboro, Oregon, Jared Klein and his wife, Anna Klein, of Cabool, Missouri and Emily Marzette and her husband, Jayce Marzette, of Los Angeles, California. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Logan Kirby and Charlie Kirby of Hillsboro, Oregon and Avery Klein and Luke Klein of Cabool, Missouri. His great-grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he was especially cherished as “Pee Paw”, a title he wore with love and pride.

William was a man of few words, but his actions and kind eyes spoke volumes about the depth of his love for his family. He was gentle, caring, and known for his warm heart—a true big “teddy bear” to those who knew him. He loved the outdoors, animals, and especially his donkeys and dogs-and found joy in the simple moments of life.

He valued friendship and community, always ready to share a cup of coffee or a cool beverage with anyone who stopped by to visit. He was the kind of man who would lend a helping hand without hesitation and made everyone feel welcome.

William will be remembered for his kindness, his quiet strength, his warm smile, and the deep love he had for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
