Kenton Dale Dotson, Sr., 65 of Brighton, MO passed away August 15, 2023 at his home following a brief illness.  Kent was born to Dale and Edna (Taft) Dotson in Springfield, Missouri, on November 25, 1957 and was soon joined by his brother, Kevin.

The boys grew up riding bikes, having adventures together, and mostly staying out of trouble. Kent and Kevin loved visiting their grandparents' farm and spending time with family in Cabool, Missouri. Kent graduated from Central High School in Springfield, Missouri in 1975. He was a loyal employee at Greene County Damaged Freight in Springfield for over 30 years.

Kent loved hunting, fishing, fast cars, and good food, and enjoyed those things the most with family and friends. Kent spent hours in the woods with his late father, Dale, son, Kent Jr., brother Kevin, and nephew Taylor. He treasured the time spent with family and friends. Memories from those hunting trips and racing trips will be treasured by Kent's loved ones. Kent could seem gruff on the outside (his "Dotson eyes" were legendary), but he loved fiercely and deeply and his laugh was hearty and genuine.

Kent leaves behind his son, Kenton "Shorty" Dale Dotson, Jr. (Marsha), siblings Kevin Dotson (Becky), Sandy Martinsen (Tom), Scott Martinsen (Belinda), and Kristen Dotson, four grandchildren, Caden, Carsen, Beau, and Jocelynn, a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as his work family and many dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Dotson and Edna (Taft) Lee, and second mom, Barbara Dotson.
